The News Literacy Project empowers educators to teach middle and high school students how to sort fact from fiction in the digital age. We are at an exciting inflection point for our work, and we are making critical investments to scale our impact. Part of our growth strategy is a new partnership with Clever to allow for easier district adoption through data sharing and class rostering. To that end, we are seeking a Senior Manager of District Success who can play a pivotal role in ensuring K-12 public school districts can effectively access and use our digital resources.

This is our first hire for our District Success team. We are building this team to provide exceptional relationship management and customer engagement while learning more about our district partner requirements and hurdles for implementing Checkology. This position will work with districts that have connected to Checkology through Clever and are at various stages of implementation. This position will also codify repeatable processes and leverage pathways for expansion.

This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and collaborates closely with the Director of Data and the Product, Marketing and Research & Design teams.

About the position

You will serve as the primary point of contact for district technology teams, instructional leaders, and learning management system integrators—especially Clever—guiding them through onboarding, integration, troubleshooting, and ongoing engagement.

This role sits at the intersection of customer success, integration and instructional support. By collaborating and coordinating with teams across NLP, you will ensure seamless implementation of our platform, foster strong customer relationships, and help districts maximize impact for educators and students by developing deep understanding of our district customer and their needs. Specifically, in this job, you will:

District Success & Engagement

· Lead district discovery for readiness and fit and serve as the main point of contact for districts engaging with Checkology through Clever, with a focus on converting districts connected on Clever to active Checkology users.

· Onboard districts in Clever and ensure smooth implementation of our tools and resources.

· Provide ongoing training, guidance, and support to district contacts, school leaders, and educators.

· Monitor district usage, identify patterns and needs, and proactively recommend solutions or interventions.

· Lead collaboration across internal teams and functions (content, engineering/tech, product, compliance and marketing) to ensure partners have timely resources and updates.

Technical Integration & LMS Support (Clever)

· Serve as an internal expert on Clever workflows, permissions, sync processes, and data health.

· Support districts in aligning their SIS, LMS, and identity systems with Checkology.

· Diagnose and resolve technical issues in partnership with engineering and product teams.

· Maintain clear documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Data & Reporting

· Track key metrics for district health and usage; provide regular reports to key stakeholders.

· Use data to identify opportunities to increase district engagement and Checkology usage.

· Capture partner feedback and translate insights into product and process improvements.

Cross-Team Collaboration

· Work closely with internal teams on district requirements.

· Coordinate with Product and Engineering to escalate bugs and contribute to roadmap discussions.

· Support Communications and Content Design teams in developing partner-facing materials, guides, and webinars.

The successful candidate will have all or most of the following:

· Passion for news literacy education, equity, accessibility and supporting educators and students.

· 5+ years of experience in EdTech, customer success or technical implementation.

· Hands-on experience with Clever, ClassLink, or other LMS/SIS integrators.

· Strong technical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and explain basic technical issues.

· Experience working with public school districts, particularly district-level administrators or IT teams.

· Working knowledge of district requirements and ability to navigate requirements to find solutions for implementation.

· Excellent communication and project management skills; PMP certification preferred but not required.

· Comfort with data analysis, dashboards and usage reporting tools.

· Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and relationships with speed and efficiency.

Compensation and benefits

The salary for this position is $75,000 to $80,000, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Our Hiring Process

Candidates selected to participate will be asked to complete a skills assessment (1-2 hours) and up to three rounds of virtual interviews (2-3 hours total). Interviews are conducted one-on-one and in group settings.

Finalists will be asked to provide references and complete a background check.
