THE ROLE

The Writers Conservatory offers skill-specific online courses taught by a faculty of authors and publishing professionals with a focus on deep writing craft and practical business sense. We are seeking an innovative and organized Curriculum Designer to collaborate with authors and our dynamic staff in the development, implementation, and production of online writing craft courses.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support authors in the construction of their online courses by providing resources and feedback as needed in the following areas: course topic selection, course description, learning objectives, formative and summative assessments, and student engagement.

Collaborate regularly with the Chief Operations Officer to establish feasible timeframes and ensure course offerings are meeting market demands.

Collect and review student and faculty feedback and make recommendations as needed.

Manage Crowdcast Live lessons on Saturdays at 12 PM EST/EDT.

Research and collaborate with the Chief Operations Officer to create new learning resources/opportunities for students.

Manage Teachable learning platform, including uploading and maintaining courses as well as monitoring The Common Room and Study Hall spaces to ensure student accessibility and adherence to community policies.

REQUIREMENTS

Required:

Bachelors in Education or related field; 3+ years of experience teaching; practical knowledge of learning theory and instructional design models; passion for creating inclusive and accessible learning spaces; proficiency with learning platforms such as Canva, Blackboard, Google Classroom or Teachable; excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent networking and interpersonal skills; highly organized; ability to be flexible in a rapidly changing environment

Preferred:

Experience with adult learning; experience teaching education or related courses; recent training in DEl and trauma-informed learning; Teachable platform experience;

Crowdcast experience
