American International College is a private, coeducational institution of higher education located on a 88+ acre campus in Springfield, Massachusetts. Job Description:
- Collaborate with Faculty on Course Design - Work with faculty members to design and structure courses, ensuring alignment with learning outcomes, institutional goals, and academic standards. Provide guidance on content organization, instructional strategies, and assessment methods. As this is a contracted, hourly position, the anticipated project (course) will be 8-10 hours which will be compensated at an appropriate rate commensurate with experience.
- Develop Instructional Materials - Create engaging learning materials, including multimedia content, interactive activities, and assessments. Ensure materials are aligned with instructional goals, support diverse learning styles, and adhere to universal design principles.
- Review and Revise Courses - Review existing courses to assess areas for improvement in content delivery, learner engagement, and assessment strategies. Collaborate with faculty to revise and update course components as necessary.
- Ensure Accessibility and Compliance - Ensure that all course materials and resources comply with accessibility standards and support inclusive learning environments.
- Provide Technical Support and Training - Offer faculty guidance and training in the use of the learning management system (LMS - Canvas) and educational technologies that enhance student engagement and learning.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- (preferred) Masters Degree in Instructional Design.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in instructional design or course development for higher education. Demonstrated experience designing courses in an online or hybrid format.
