Graders evaluate submitted student work for content, competency and adherence to the instructions and rubric. Graders are held to efficiency and quality goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Accurately read and measure student performance based against a grading rubric.
- Collaboratively work with the Lead for the course(s) to provide the student with constructive, supportive and concise feedback.
- Complete grading rubrics and leave detailed feedback and comments for the learner.
- Check student submissions for plagiarism and for grammar.
- Provide in-context feedback and scoring using the Sophia-provided rubric.
- Participate in calibration efforts to ensure consistency of quality for our learners.

Work Experience:
• Current or prior HS or Post-secondary teaching experience in Business and Humanities.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required; Master’s degree is preferred.

- Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Typical office setting.
- Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.
- Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job.
- Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.

- Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.
- Effectively cope with stressful situations.
- Strong mental acuity.
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
