Position Overview
The Product Marketing Director will have ownership for numerous products within the Teaching Strategies portfolio, which currently includes curriculum, assessment, family engagement, and professional development. You may also provide market leadership for one or more of our key market segments, providing audience, product, messaging, and competitive insights to guide product and campaign initiatives for that sector.
As part of the Product Marketing team, you will build awareness of our products and communicate how our solutions help educators in districts, Head Start programs, public and private schools, and childcare centers meet children's developmental needs from birth to kindergarten using age appropriate, research-based offerings. You will partner closely with internal teams including Product, Sales, Partner Success, and teams within Marketing to inform your work and gain cross-functional alignment.
You will bring strong written and presentation skills to this role, along with a passion for serving educators and supporting our mission to provide all children the best start possible to promote success in school and life. You should enjoy collaborative problem-solving, data-driven decision making, and managing cross-functional projects. Ideally, you will also bring market knowledge of the early education landscape and will be eager to support educator-focused solutions that elevate their practice and drive student growth.
Specific Roles & Responsibilities:
- Strategic LeadershipDevelop and execute a cohesive product marketing strategy that aligns with company objectives and market trends.
- Act as a bridge between Product, Sales, Partner Success, and Marketing teams to ensure cohesive messaging and successful go-to-market execution
- Portfolio OversightManage and oversee the marketing strategies for a subset of curriculum, assessment, professional development, and family engagement products.
- Identify market opportunities and develop differentiated positioning to drive product growth and customer retention.
- Go-to-Market (GTM) LeadershipLead end-to-end GTM efforts for new product launches and updates, including messaging, pricing, promotional strategies, and sales enablement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful launch execution and alignment with business goals.
- Market Insights and Competitive AnalysisConduct ongoing market research and analysis to understand customer needs, market trends, and competitive positioning.
- Develop buyer personas and customer journey maps to inform marketing strategies and sales enablement tools.
- Develop competitive intelligence tools to help the Sales team understand market dynamics and differentiate the company's offerings.
- Product Positioning and MessagingBecome a subject matter expert in the product portfolio to effectively support our customer-facing teams.
- Create differentiated positioning and messaging that clearly convey the value of our products to educators.
- Develop impactful customer-facing collateral and content including brochures/flyers, website content, videos, and more to support sales and marketing campaigns.
- Sales EnablementDevelop and deliver comprehensive sales enablement materials, including pitch decks, messaging frameworks, FAQs, competitive briefs, and product demos tailored to key customer segments.
- Work collaboratively with Sales Training to conduct ongoing workshops to educate the Sales team on product features, competitive positioning, and value propositions.
- Create and maintain a centralized repository of sales tools and resources to ensure easy access and alignment with the latest product updates.
- Partner with the Sales and Partner Success teams to gather customer insights and feedback to refine product messaging and improve overall market fit.
- Establish clear KPIs and regularly track the effectiveness of sales enablement initiatives, using insights to optimize strategies.
- Content and Campaign SupportProvide messaging and audience insight to guide the creation of compelling campaign materials, including web content, sales decks, case studies, and white papers.
- Partner with the Demand Gen team to drive campaigns tailored to specific products and customer segments.
- Create engaging case studies and customer success stories to highlight the impact and effectiveness of the company's offerings in real-world scenarios.
- Monitor key performance metrics, adjusting strategies as needed to meet revenue and adoption targets
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business, or a related field. MBA preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in product marketing, preferably within the EdTech or B2B SaaS space.
- Proven track record of managing and scaling multiple products across diverse audiences.
- Strong understanding of the education sector, including curriculum, assessment, and professional development trends.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives for diverse stakeholders.
- Experience using data-driven insights to inform marketing strategies and measure success.
