SUMMARY
The Alumni Recruiter is responsible for building and managing a talent pool of Per Scholas alumni, aligning their skills and career aspirations with technology job opportunities from our employer partners. This role involves sourcing, screening, and matching candidates to job requisitions, preparing them for interviews, and ensuring their successful integration and retention in new positions. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the Alumni Recruiter will leverage technology and collaborate with internal teams to meet employer needs for diverse, high-quality talent, thereby contributing to the organization's revenue generation and mission of enabling economic mobility.
Our Innovation team is agile and dynamic; we take a consultative, problem-solving, and collaborative approach to identifying, testing, iterating, and scaling opportunities that increase our organization’s impact and support Per Scholas’s ambitious growth strategy. Working closely with other Per Scholas teams, we learn, share insights, provide resources (e.g., frameworks, tools), co-create experiments, grow solutions that prove to work, and follow a data-driven approach to results measurement. We also help build a broader culture of innovation within Per Scholas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Talent Pool Development
- Build and maintain a robust database of Per Scholas alumni candidates, ensuring profiles are current and accurately reflect skills, experiences, and job readiness.
- Utilize candidate matching technology platform(s), and collaborate with local and national alumni engagement teams to identify suitable candidates for job orders.
- Utilize higher touch methods with candidates when needed (phone, text, email) to build relationships with alumni looking for work
Candidate Sourcing and Matching
- Review and understand job requisitions from employer partners to identify key qualifications and requirements.
- Quickly and effectively match alumni candidates to appropriate job opportunities, ensuring alignment with both candidate aspirations and employer needs.
Screening and Preparation
- Conduct initial screenings to assess candidate suitability, including interviews and skills assessments.
- Prepare candidates for interviews by providing guidance on employer expectations, interview techniques, and company-specific information.
Collaboration and Communication
- Partner with the Enterprise Talent Solutions (Employer Partnerships) team to present candidate profiles to employers for final selection.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process, providing updates and feedback.
Candidate Retention and Support
- Regularly connect with placed candidates for up to one year to monitor progress, address concerns, and provide ongoing support.
- Connect alumni to internal resources as needed to ensure candidate success and retention
Performance Metrics and Reporting
- Achieve a fill rate of 50% for job orders.
- Ensure a time-to-submit metric of 48 hours from receiving a job order to presenting the first qualified candidate.
- Monitor and report on candidate retention, aiming for placed candidates to remain in their positions for at least six months.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience in tech recruitment, talent acquisition, or staffing, preferably within a staffing agency or similar environment.
- Skills and Competencies
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with candidates and employer partners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey information and provide guidance.
- Proficiency in using recruitment technologies and platforms and LinkedIn; Salesforce knowledge is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple job orders and candidates simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines and achieving targets.
- Knowledge
- Critical: understanding of the technology job market and the skills required for various roles within the tech industry (e.g., understanding of technical job descriptions and technical skills)
- Familiarity with diversity and inclusion best practices in recruitment.

COMPENSATION
For this role specifically, we target $55,000 with a salary range of $50,000 - $55,000. The salary difference is typically determined by several factors, including the selected candidate's geography and alignment with qualifications and experience.
