Position: Subcontractor – Student Mentor Provider (NYC DOE-Approved)

Type: Contract/Per Diem

We are seeking experienced student mentor providers to join our team as subcontractors. This role involves working with K-12 students in New York City public schools to offer individualized mentoring, guidance, and emotional support in alignment with New York City Department of Education (NYC DOE) standards.

Responsibilities

Build trusting relationships with students to support their academic, personal, and social-emotional development.
Provide consistent, structured mentoring to foster positive behaviors, self-esteem, and goal-setting skills.
Work closely with school staff and families to monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
Collaborate with school counselors and teachers to identify students' needs and coordinate appropriate interventions.
Align mentoring strategies with the NYC DOE’s Respect for All program and other relevant student support frameworks.

Qualifications

Experience working with K-12 students in a mentoring or youth development capacity, preferably within the NYC public school system.
Familiarity with NYC DOE protocols and initiatives, such as social-emotional learning and positive behavior interventions.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to document interactions and progress in compliance with DOE standards.
Preferred: Background in education, counseling, or youth services.
