Reports to: Mike Applegate, Regional Manager
Location: Rock Valley College Campus Store, 3301 North Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61114
Contract type: Full-Time, Permanent
Shift type: 8 hour shift, Day shift
Salary: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Position Overview
We are looking for a results driven retail store manager to be responsible for the overall Campus store management. The successful candidate will be able to enhance customer satisfaction, meet sales and profitability goals and manage staff effectively.
What you will be doing:
Collect, enter and analyze textbook adoptions for order placement and maintain regular communication with campus stakeholders regarding status.
Manage inventory for the department, including receiving, tagging, set-up and the return of unsold inventory to the vendors.
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with the faculty to obtain key information in the text area. Schedule regular appointments and meet with the appropriate. administrative personnel to build rapport, discuss situations and avoid potential problems.
Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to sales staff.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
Complete store administration and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards.
Report on buying trends, customer needs, profits etc.
Propose innovative ideas to increase market share.
Conduct personnel performance appraisals to assess training needs and build career paths.
Deal with all issues that arise from staff or customers (complaints, grievances
etc.)
Be a shining example of well behavior and high performance.
Additional store manager duties as needed.
Job requirements

Proven successful experience as a retail manager
Very strong communication and interpersonal skills
Powerful leading skills and business orientation
Customer management skills
Strong organizational skills
Good to have:
Two (2) years of college or its equivalent
Background in Campus store management
