About the Role

We are growing our Production team at Big Ideas Learning and are looking for a Print Coordinator to join us onsite in Erie!

 

As a Print Coordinator you'll be responsible for the execution of pre-press duties and the facilitation of print-ready files being uploaded to respective printers. In addition, this role will be in constant communication with the company’s manufacturing representatives (external) and internal stakeholders to ensure quality, product, deadlines, and compliance standards are met.  

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as liaison for any and all print manufactured products (including first runs and reprints).    
  • Collaborate with various internal teams to establish print specifications, schedules, and production requirements.  
  • Engage with Production leadership to ensure pre-press specs. are incorporated into final deliverable files.  
  • Establish and maintain proper documentation relative to project status and processes.  
  • Support compliance and state bid teams by providing accurate print production details for forms and status.  
  • Use IPS inventory system to facilitate communication with printer and distributor contacts.  
  • Conduct proper preflight checks internally prior to printer site upload.  
  • Upload final print files to respective print manufacturer sites.   
  • Conduct and/or facilitate printer proofing and approval processes by adhering to and/or providing the proper guidelines  
  • Troubleshoot print production issues, working with internal teams and print vendors to find solutions.  
  • Manage print vendor performance to ensure high-quality output, reliability, and adherence to agreed-upon standards.  
  • Stay informed on print-related compliance requirements and ensure vendor production aligns with accessibility standards (e.g., large print, braille, digital accessibility). 


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in print production environment or similar role. 
  • Strong knowledge of print processes including offset, digital, large format, and specialty printing. 
  • Experience with prepress requirements, color management, and proofing. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. 
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills with print vendors. 
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. 
  • Familiarity with educational publishing requirements is a plus. 
  • Familiarity with Kodak Insite Portal. 
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Acrobat, and Microsoft Office.
