The opportunity:
As a Pharmacy Technician Externship Coordinator, your primary responsibility is to coordinate the placement of students with externship sites. You'll oversee the process from the moment a student begins their externship journey through the end of their externship, ensuring all required documentation, scheduling, and communication is completed successfully.
This role requires availability during daytime hours, Monday through Friday (typically between 8 AM – 8 PM ET).
What you’ll do:
- Manage externship placements by confirming site assignments, preparing placement paperwork, scheduling interviews (if required), and setting student start dates.
- Ensure student compliance with onboarding requirements, including background checks, drug screens, Board of Pharmacy licenses, vaccinations, and externship paperwork.
- Act as the primary point of contact for students and externship sites, providing updates and addressing concerns.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with externship sites by understanding their capacity, preferences, and onboarding processes.
- Maintain accurate records in internal dashboards, tracking student progress and site availability.
What you'll bring:
- Are a Certified Pharmacy Technician
- Have 3+ years of hands-on pharmacy tech experience and a solid understanding of state Board of Pharmacy guidelines and the National Certification exam (NHA or PTCB)
- Have 1+ years of experience coordinating externships or managing student placements within a higher education institution.
- Have Front, Adobe Acrobat Pro and/or Google Suite experience
- Self motivated/driven able to quickly learn and jump into the role
- Strong communication skills and high attention to detail
