Job Posting Description
As a Health Assistant / Floater at Acelero Learning, you will play a critical role in supporting the health, safety, and overall well-being of children ages 3–5 enrolled in our Head Start program across Clark County, Nevada. Serving more than 1,400 children in twelve centers, this role provides hands-on support to ensure health screenings, compliance, and follow-up services are completed accurately and on time.
You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team of health, nutrition, and family engagement professionals, contributing to Acelero Learning’s two-generation approach that strengthens child and family outcomes and promotes school readiness. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about public health, early childhood education, and community-based work.
Your Role
As a Health Assistant / Floater, you will support the implementation of Acelero Learning’s health and wellness strategies by assisting with screenings, monitoring compliance, and providing coverage and support across multiple sites. You will collaborate closely with Health & Nutrition Coordinators, Health & Disability Advocates, and family engagement staff to ensure children receive timely, comprehensive health services in a safe and nurturing environment.
What You’ll Do
- Work collaboratively with Health & Nutrition Coordinators to support health screenings, timely follow-up, and accurate data entry
- Assist with health and safety monitoring to ensure compliance with medication administration and health needs for enrolled children
- Support 100% completion of 45- and 90-day screenings by providing on-site assistance and monitoring across multiple centers
- Model best practices and support onboarding and training of new Health & Disability Advocates
- Provide flexible, general support to the health team during peak service periods
- Maintain accurate documentation, record keeping, and reporting in alignment with Head Start requirements
- Participate in ongoing monitoring, self-assessment, and planning efforts
- Help establish and maintain safe, healthy learning environments
- Support children’s overall health and well-being
- Encourage and support family involvement in their child’s health within the Head Start program
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Commitment to supporting children and families in low-income communities
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Intermediate computer skills, including email, data entry, and internet navigation
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally between centers
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds multiple times per day, as needed
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to pass a physical examination and all Head Start and licensing-required background checks
Preferred:
- Experience supporting family engagement and health initiatives in early childhood or community-based programs
