Position Summary:
Penn Foster Group is seeking a strategic, technically fluent, and learner obsessed Website Director to lead our public facing web ecosystem across multiple brands and properties. This role owns the end-to-end experience of our pre-enrollment websites and is accountable for how learners discover, engage with, and move through our digital front door in an increasingly AI-driven discovery world.
The Website Director will lead and scale teams across SEO, CRO, AI visibility, UX design, and web operations, ensuring our sites are high performing, intuitive, accessible, and optimized for both human and AI based discovery. This role sits at the intersection of brand, growth, product, and technology and plays a critical role in driving enrollment quality, learner trust, and long-term outcomes.
You are a systems thinker who understands that websites are not static destinations but living growth engines. You combine strong people leadership with data-driven decision making and a deep understanding of how modern discovery, UX, and conversion work together.
Essential Job Functions:
• Own the strategy, performance, and evolution of all public facing, pre-enrollment websites across Penn Foster Group brands and properties
• Lead and manage cross functional web teams spanning SEO, CRO, AI visibility, UX design, and site operations
• Define and optimize the end-to-end learner journey from first discovery through enrollment handoff
• Partner closely with Growth, Brand, Product, Enterprise & Partnerships, and Technology teams to translate business priorities into scalable web solutions
• Establish best practices for AI powered discovery, including content structure, schema, and visibility within LLM driven environments
• Drive continuous improvement through experimentation, testing, and optimization of UX, content, and conversion flows
• Ensure sites meet high standards for performance, accessibility, security, and reliability
• Serve as the center of excellence for web strategy, trends, and emerging technologies across the organization
• Develop and grow a high performing team, including hiring, coaching, and setting clear goals and accountability
• Use data and insights to prioritize roadmaps, measure impact, and communicate performance to senior leadership
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Deep knowledge of website strategy, UX design, and conversion optimization in complex, multi-property environments
• Strong understanding of SEO, AI driven discovery, and modern content architecture
• Experience leading and scaling cross functional web, UX, and optimization teams
• Ability to connect web strategy to business outcomes such as enrollment, quality, engagement, and efficiency
• Strong analytical skills with experience using data, testing, and experimentation to inform decisions
• Excellent collaboration skills across Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Enterprise teams
• Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and roadmaps in a fast paced, evolving environment
• Comfort operating at both strategic and hands on levels when needed
• Passion for creating simple, intuitive, and trustworthy digital experiences for learners
