This is a dual role of Bus Aide and Food Service Worker. As a Bus Aide/ Food Service Worker you’ll be a trusted presence on our buses, helping children travel safely and calmly each day as well as providing nutritionist meals.
What You’ll Do
As a Bus Aide/Food Service Worker, you will:
- Supervise and assist children during transportation, including boarding, seating, and exiting the bus.
- Ensure all children are buckled in safely and follow transportation safety procedures.
- Create a warm, friendly, and respectful atmosphere on the bus.
- Communicate with families and transportation staff as needed.
- Respond quickly and calmly to emergencies or unexpected situations.
Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks that meet USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines.
Support food service operations wherever needed across the center, including meal prep, serving, and cleanup.
Maintain safe food handling, storage, and sanitation practices in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Assist with inventory management and stocking of kitchen supplies.
Help create a positive mealtime environment that encourages children to enjoy healthy foods.
Collaborate with center staff to ensure timely and smooth meal service.
Who You Are
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Caring, patient, and enjoys working with young children.
- Safety-focused and attentive to detail.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Bilingual (Spanish-English) is a plus!
- Flexible and dependable, able to step in where needed to support kitchen operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. and assist children in/out of seats and vehicles.
Previous food service or kitchen experience preferred.
Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices.
- Pass a physical exam and background check.
- Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation required.
