In this role you’ll lead a learning design team to create effective learning solutions that enable job success across Toast’s Customer Success teams. You will evaluate and measure the success of existing learning solutions, recommend and guide improvements, and develop your team to build the necessary skills required to provide scalable, effective outcomes. You will partner cross-functionally to ensure satisfaction from all levels of the teams you support, identifying learning needs and following through to drive desired business outcomes. You will drive forward advancements to Toast’s learning ecosystem and ensure industry-leading standards are met with all learning solutions. You will evaluate success using Kirkpatrick’s four levels and develop innovative, technology-based solutions focused on a consistent learning experience across the board.
The role requires strong people-management skills, agility, and a collaborative approach to creating solutions that drive maximum impact. You must be able to lead and inspire a team of direct reports to continue growing, innovating, and improving on existing processes with the goal of providing the teams we support with the knowledge and resources needed for successful job performance.
About this roll* (Responsibilities)
- Lead a team of learning designers, providing inspiration, direction, development, and support to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality learning experiences
- Oversee and improve the end-to-end learning design process, driving learner-centric solutions that give our teams the right enablement at the right time
- Drive the effectiveness of multi-modality content strategies that promote on-the-job and social learning, in addition to formal learning
- Build strong partnerships with cross-functional leaders and teams to ensure complete alignment with business priorities
- Optimize learning design capacity by overseeing Agile frameworks, improving learning design workflows, and managing resources effectively
- Recommend and guide forward-thinking learning approaches, leveraging industry-leading technologies and out of the box solutions
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, encouraging creativity and consistent iteration
Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience managing learning design teams, with a proven ability to empower, coach, and develop individuals
- 5+ years in an enablement, training, learning design or related field with a track record of creating multi-modality learning solutions that drove business impact
- Experience managing industry-leading adult learning programs at scale in a corporate environment
- Proficiency with various content development tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate 360, Camtasia, Pendo, and Salesforce Knowledge, hosted on multiple platforms (LMS, web-based, mobile, etc).
- Proven success managing processes around large-scale projects: Ability to identify a problem, ideate on potential solutions, build data-backed recommendations, engage stakeholders, and deliver a solution consistent with those recommendations
- Exceptional interpersonal skills: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and communicate effectively while under pressure - balancing confidence, humility and diplomacy
- Thrives in a fast-paced and highly ambiguous environment; flexible toward dynamic change with a bias for action
- A balance of detail-oriented execution and big picture thinking
- Generally curious and embraces an open mindset (always looking for ways to improve skills and learn new things)

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.
