POSITION TITLE: Senior Manager, Product Development and EdTech
Location: Remote (with 02 days per month Per Scholas site visit). Preferred location: NYC.
Reports To: Senior Director, Product Development
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Per Scholas is seeking a Senior Manager of Product Development and EdTech to become a national Product Development team member. The ideal candidate is a creative, detail-oriented, and problem-solving individual with strong organization, technical writing and content development and management skills, an ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic environment, and a strong sense of accountability. This role will be responsible for developing technical and non-technical bootcamp style training as well as developing and supporting EdTech applications. They will also be responsible for assisting the Director of Instructional Design and Development with product quality checks, content oversight, project, and process management.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Work with the product development team, alumni engagement & training team, instructional team, and other stakeholders to create, implement and revise curriculum materials for Per Scholas training programs.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, infrastructure, and training technology teams to develop, maintain, and support educational technologies, applications, and platforms.
- Assist the Director of Instructional Design and Development with product development, management, oversight and project workflows.
- Maintain ongoing oversight of training materials to ensure the quality and overall health of the curriculum.
- Design and develop learning activities that are clear, engaging, and aligned with various learning styles (visual, kinesthetic, etc.)
- Develop solutions (e.g., instructor-led, virtual, eLearning, blended, etc.) that provide relevant, challenging, and productive learning experiences. Finalize materials through reviews, pilot tests, etc.
- Build and utilize technology (virtual labs, simulated labs, etc.) and media to develop dynamic and engaging curriculum content.
- Navigate and communicate curriculum and technology related issues across teams to resolve them efficiently.
- Complete special projects and requests as opportunities arise.
- Contribute to fine-tuning our content development process as we scale.
- Upskill and attempt certifications related to development projects as opportunities arise.
- Contribute to projects and tasks in the following areas on a high-level breakdown:
- EdTech application development and support - 30%
- Training content design, development, and support - 50%
- Project and process management - 20%
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO US:
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software/API development, cloud native app development, etc.) experience or a demonstrable portfolio in the listed domains.
- Strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Experience working with a tech stack such as MERN or an equivalent full stack development. Preference in Python, JavaScript and TypeScript for full-stack web application development and at least one modern web application library/framework (e.g. React, Angular, Vue, Next.js, Django, etc.).
- Solid understanding of one or more database technologies e.g. MySQL, NoSQL, etc and a demonstrable portfolio showcasing the implementation of database systems.
- Experience with developing and managing training/curriculum content.
- Familiarity with Instructional design frameworks such as ADDIE and/or Understanding by Design (UbD).
- BA / BS or equivalent practical/industry experience.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Familiarity with Generative AI.
- Exceptional verbal and writing skills.
- Proficient with cloud productivity suites such as Cnava, Office 365, Google Workspace, etc.
- Experience working on concurrent priority projects while maintaining excellent attention to detail. Familiarity with popular project management tools e.g. Asana, JIRA, etc.
- Self-starter with strong interpersonal, communication, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to take ownership over tasks and meet short and long-term deliverables.
- A passion for continuous improvement and keeping current on the latest trends in learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working for a bootcamp style training organization in engineering capacity.
- Experience teaching and/or coaching adult learners.
- Operations or product management experience.
- Experience with DevOps practices and toolings such as GitHub actions, Docker, Jenkins, etc.

For this role specifically,we are targeting a range between $70,000/year and $75,000/year, where the difference in salary is typically determined by several factors, including geography in which the selected candidate resides and alignment with qualifications and experience.
