POSITION TITLE: Alumni Teaching Fellow
REPORTS TO: Director Alumni Technical Training
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are seeking a Teaching Fellow to join our Alumni Engagement & Training team. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, problem-solving individual with strong technical and instructional skills, demonstrates the ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic environment, and maintains a strong sense of accountability.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Support instructor-led & asynchronous training that prepares students for entry-level to mid-level careers in IT and cybersecurity
- Provide students with access to relevant resources for outside learning on technologies and study aids relevant to the curriculum
- Work closely with the team to identify student needs, provide the necessary support, establish individualized plans for student achievement, and participate in regular student-status meetings.
- Maintain and update Salesforce and/or our LMS with student grades, certification scores, and progress notes.
- Assist and/or collaborate with the instructor to:
- Grade and/or review assessments, class projects, and other materials
- Review curriculum materials and assessments weekly and report to the instructor and curriculum development team any proofreading or subject-matter errors
- Assist instructor with the preparation of daily agenda for students
- Schedule time with the instructor and students to discuss class challenges
- Monitor learner attendance, certifications’ progress, etc.
- Run independent tutoring sessions with learners
- Lead micro-cohort court instruction training that prepares students for entry-level to mid-level careers in IT and cybersecurity
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO US
Instructional Skill Sets
- 1-3 years of teaching or training experience
- Strong technical background; able to grasp and convey the highly technical subject matter
- Ability to respond clearly to live digital conversations via a digital engagement platform such as Zoom or an in-person training environment.
- Strong communication skills
Required Skill Sets
- Advanced knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux Operating Systems; this includes both end-user and server versions.
- Experience with Windows server, AD, DHCP, DNS, NPS, Group Policy, user-profile management, WDS
- Proficiency with File systems and Disk management, performance monitoring, and security
- Experience with supporting hardware and software add, change, move, install, imaging, upgrade of desktops, printers, scanners, devices, and equipment; ensure optimal performance of the end-user workstations
- Proficiency with LAN/WAN/VLAN, routing configuration, switching, and TCP/IP + OSI layers
- Experience working with Desktops, Rack Servers, and other equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.)
- Proficiency with remote administration and remote administration tools, such as mobile- device management using InTune, Remote Access Tools (RDP), Teamviewer
- Experience with network infrastructure, routers, switches, and wireless access points
- Experience with cybersecurity concepts
- Network security monitoring (network or security operations)
- Knowledge of cryptography, data security, infrastructure security, governance, risk management, compliance, application security, vulnerability management
- Familiarity with cloud and container Security
- Server-side virtualization (Hyper-V, Virtualbox, ESXi)
- Familiarity with cybersecurity models (CIA Triad, NIST, OWASP, etc.)
- Knowledge of SEIM tools, logging concepts, and monitoring
Preferred Skill Sets:
- CompTIA Network+ certification
- CompTIA Security+ or Cysa+ certification
- Strong documentation, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with ITIL implementation in support of the Help Desk
- Experience using an SLA ticketing system with a customer/consumer service-driven approach
- ServiceNow preferred.
- Splunk Power User preferred.
