Director of Operations, Enterprise Systems
What We Seek
In this position, you will collaborate with leaders across the organization to drive data-driven business operations. The Carnegie Learning customer journey is intricately tied to a series of data-driven touchpoints, and leveraging enterprise applications such as Oracle E-Business Suite and Salesforce are pivotal to the success of this role. This position is responsible for managing the team responsible for the information architecture and administration of our ERP & CRM, establishing and maintaining integrations with other business systems, and contributing to the development of data dashboards for executive-level decision-making. You will work closely with internal teams and external resources to implement enterprise systems optimizations that improve productivity and efficiency.
What Your Day Will Look Like
- Optimize Customer Interactions: Positively impact customer interactions through the redesign, automation, and continuous improvement of Oracle, Salesforce and other core enterprise systems.Actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement in the functionality and efficiency of Oracle, Salesforce and other enterprise systems.
- Stay informed about updates, new features, and best practices within the enterprise software ecosystem and other relevant platforms.
- Lifecycle Automation and Streamlining: Identify opportunities to automate parts of the internal management of the Carnegie Learning customer lifecycle, eliminating unnecessary steps that do not add value. Leverage data to simplify, enhance, and innovate internal business processes, implementing practical and innovative ideas.
- Training and Support: Develop and implement training programs to ensure that Carnegie Learning staff are proficient in using Salesforce and other enterprise systems. Provide ongoing support to address user inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and facilitate a smooth user experience.Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and integrations. Facilitate knowledge sharing within the team and across departments to enhance the overall understanding of enterprise systems.
- People Management: Lead and manage a dynamic team of professionals responsible for enterprise systems at Carnegie Learning, fostering collaboration, providing mentorship, and ensuring continuous skill development. Facilitate a positive work environment, align individual goals with organizational objectives, and act as a liaison between the enterprise systems team and other departments to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of a long-term strategic plan for enterprise systems, aligning technology solutions with the overall goals and objectives of Carnegie Learning. Provide recommendations for future enhancements and investments in technology.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers related to enterprise systems. Evaluate and select new vendors when necessary, ensuring that they align with the organization's needs and standards.
- Stay Informed About Industry Trends: Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in enterprise systems, data analytics, and educational technology. Evaluate the potential impact on Carnegie Learning's business operations and make recommendations for adoption where relevant.
- Budget Management: Work closely with the Finance department to manage the budget related to enterprise systems, ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal allocation of resources for ongoing operations and improvements.
- Change Management: Implement effective change management strategies when introducing new features, updates, or process improvements within enterprise systems. Ensure that stakeholders are well-informed and prepared for changes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with departments such as IT, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Support to understand their unique business requirements and tailor business application solutions to meet their specific needs.
- Requirements Development: Ensure the proper documentation and review of requirements associated with projects and initiatives
- Project Management: Drive the management and reporting associated with projects and initiatives that are executed by the enterprise systems team
- Initiatives Alignment: Assign and review the work to each member of the team based on the company’s enterprise systems projects and initiatives
What Should Be In Your Bookbag
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Six (6) or more years of experience in Salesforce administration with advanced skills in dashboards, roles, users, data consolidations, workflows, approvals, tasks, events, and page layouts.Advanced experience with Salesforce CPQ, Sales Cloud, or Service Cloud.
- Experience with middleware, Oracle EBS, and 3rd-party integrations
- Six (6) or more years of experience in ERP design, implementation, and development
- Six (6) or more years of people management experience, particularly in the enterprise systems or IT function
- Six (6) or more years of experience managing enterprise systems projects and priorities
- Demonstrated experience managing external consulting/vendor relationships as well as reviewing and approving deliverables from external partners
- Strong analytical skills for analyzing, aggregating, and reporting on data from multiple sources.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with different teams internally and externally.
- Ability to design and implement business practices and systems that significantly impact internal process improvement and/or customer experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
