Content Area or Department Brief Description:
The Early Childhood Integrated Systems (ECIS) content area addresses systems and policies for children age birth to eight and their families. Projects in this area build the capacity of state-level or large-scale mixed-delivery early childhood systems through cross-sector, integrated service delivery, policy guidance, system building efforts, and initiatives to support the whole child, whole family, and whole community.
Position Overview:
The Early Childhood Project Manager position provides an opportunity to support dynamic project teams by managing the workflow and relationships of complex, highly visible, and meaningful professional learning across the state of California. The Project Manager position is essential to managing and scaling our professional services in the early childhood field. Qualified candidates will be proficient in using project and content management tools, such as Box and Smartsheet, launching communications with program participants. Qualified candidates will have an early childhood education degree and/or experience.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and proactive management of multiple project work plans to ensure timely deliverables submission, responsive professional learning support, and fidelity to California resources.
- Track progress toward milestones and communicate timelines and necessary steps to ensure smooth, timely workflow among collaborating WestEd staff, participants, clients.
- Facilitate and document internal and external project communications: Organize and facilitate focus groups and trainings, prepare meeting summaries, communicate decisions, and respond to inquiries and action items.
- Ensure consistency of approach across the program by following established quality assurance processes and program protocols while engaging in process improvement when appropriate.
- Regularly communicate with internal staff at all levels in the organization, building effective relationships.
- Lead material development team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or similar field.
- 4 years of project coordination experience.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment dealing successfully with multiple short- and long-term priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in WestEd business tools including Microsoft, Google, Smartsheet, online survey tools, with an ability to quickly adapt to new tools or software.
- Demonstrates highest-quality collaboration skills for both internal and external stakeholders, including excellent interpersonal communications, dependability, reliability, and professionalism.
- Industry knowledge, preferred (examples include experience working with state education agency, and federal or state funded programs, and/or experience with the process of providing training and resources to a large and varied audience).
- Understanding of adult learning principles and professional development.
- Experience developing professional learning experiences for early childhood professionals.
- Knowledge and experience in the early childhood field.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
The full salary range for this position, WestEd level 10, is $90,000 to $135,000 but WestEd does not typically hire at or near the top of the salary range. The typical hiring range for this role is $90,000 to $112,500. The actual offer takes into account multiple factors including but not limited to education; experience; internal equity, and other organizational needs.
In addition to the base salary, benefits include:
· 15% contribution toward retirement effective day 1 of employment
