About This Position
We are looking for someone who will be an integral contributor in our mission to provide engaging, authentic learning experiences to students nationwide. This remote position requires an experienced expert in K-12 literacy curriculum development, with a proven ability to manage complex projects and multiple workflows simultaneously. The Manager of Curriculum will work closely with the Director of Curriculum to develop our product roadmap, contribute to curriculum revisions, and monitor and adhere to multiple project schedules.
Experience
- Experience managing complex curriculum projects with 5 – 10 simultaneous workflows.
- Experienced project manager, with skill utilizing management software.
- Sustained, proven success as a content expert in K – 12 literacy.
- Experience writing literacy curriculum across 6 – 12 (or some subset thereof).
Essential Functions
Primary Responsibilities
- Participates in the product roadmap development.
- Manages the work of the curriculum design team (tasks and timelines).
- Contributes to the curriculum revision plan.
- Is an individual contributor on the design team.
- Reviews, and gives feedback on the work of the project team.
- Promotes IBD by writing blog posts, and helping to craft and review presentations.
- Continuously grows knowledge of teaching and learning in literacy.
- Maintains awareness of market demands in the literacy ecosystem to inform the design of IBD curriculum, products, and innovation.
Team Responsibilities
- In a joint effort with the Director of Curriculum, leads weekly sprints and stand-ups.
- Collaborates with the Director of Curriculum on the use of resources to meet schedules.
- Consistently works to help all members of the team meet timelines.
- Collaborates with members of the project team.
Project Responsibilities
- Supports the execution of project scope and designs solutions.
- Monitors the need for any process adjustments and advocates for recommended changes.
- Participates in regular project team meetings.
- Monitors and adheres to the project schedule.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to serve as a mentor to team members who desire to increase their IBD product knowledge.
- Capacity to receive and apply feedback provided by colleagues.
- Highly organized and detail oriented with a track record of meeting short and long-term responsibilities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to successfully adjust and retool when redirection is provided.
- Knowledgeable of the research in K – 12 literacy.
- Ability to translate research into practice.
- Innovates regarding processes, methodology, and solution.
- Clearly communicates complex ideas in understandable ways.
- Effectively navigates ambiguity to move work forward.
- Executes upon direction from the Director to coordinate the work effort needed to meet project schedules and goals.
- Builds and maintains relationships.
- May write and publish for external audiences.
- May present at conferences.
- Travel as needed (< 15%).

Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary range $65,000 – $85,000, depending on experience (May be an opportunity for an annual bonus if company meets revenue goals and employee meets or exceeds job expectations)
