Job Description:
THE OPPORTUNITY
Provide administrative and editorial assistance to Publisher (Scholastic Audio) and Scholastic Library Publishing, and digital publishing group.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Publisher with administrative tasks, including calendar management, expense reports, invoice processing, and other duties as assigned.
Liase with the editorial, design and production departments to track workflow and guide books and ebooks through the pre-production process. Assist in review all routing materials.
Create and maintain individual title records, create title information sheets and conduct competitive title information research.
Provide editorial assistance, including copyediting, proofreading, and fact-checking. Assist with catalog and back-cover copy.
Prepare materials for meetings, including acquisitions, list launch, and sales conference.
General administrative duties as assigned.

Strong interest in children’s book publishing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Highly organized with an attention to detail and ability to prioritize
Computer skills: Proficiency in Word required, knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint a plus
