Director of Global Sales and Marketing Development
As the Director of Global Sales and Marketing Development, you will provide strategy, mentorship, and guidance to a team of Sales and Marketing Development managers and team leads, furthering the growth of our organization. This role has a direct impact on sales pipeline volume and contributes to molding future Account Executives and leaders of Blackbaud.
Blackbaud is looking to add this key leadership team member to bring together three groups of sales and/or marketing development representatives across the company, supporting different businesses today. The mission is to successfully build a single center of excellence for which all lead qualification, lead handling and prospecting takes place. Additionally, it is critical that this position focuses on qualification of leads and agility around business priorities with the ultimate goal of significantly growing the pipeline and bookings delivered by this department in 2025 and beyond.
What you’ll do:
- You will craft and execute strategies that enhance our sales pipeline through innovative inbound and outbound campaigns, monitoring the success of these and iterating quickly if changes are needed.
- Lead your team to develop qualified opportunities, driving toward a specific goal per team of opportunities created and then opportunities qualified.
- Forecast performance and setting team quotas based on team productivity and business priorities.
- Hire, oversee, mentor and train a team of Sales and Marketing Development leaders who have direct oversight into our front-line teams.
- Facilitate the ramp up for all new team members, coaching them to success.
- Evaluate trends to identify areas for improvement and surface best-practices across teams.
- Work alongside your management team and sales leadership to develop sales-ready Sales and Marketing Development Reps to move into an account executive role and continue to build the bench strength of our sales team.
- Cross-collaborate with stakeholders across sales and marketing regarding go-to-market strategies, training curriculum, and hiring strategies.
- Audit the qualification process to ensure the team is clearly communicating the value proposition in job best practices, pitches and objection handling for inbound and outbound prospects to generate qualified opportunities
Core KPIs:
- Grow number of opportunities opened in 2025 through increased MQL-Opportunity conversion and enhanced outreach strategies across social impact and corporate impact business units.
- Increase opportunities created to opportunities qualified conversion to impact sales velocity for all segments.
What we’ll want you to have:
- 10+ years of experience in sales or marketing development leadership role, preferably at a B2B SaaS company.
- A proven track record of success exceeding personal and team quotas.
- Analytical thinking abilities to comprehend data and harness its power to make informed decisions and recommendations.
- Experience with Salesforce and SalesLoft required
- Experience with LinkedIn Navigator and/or Qualified strongly preferred
- Experience looking at long-term projections and identify opportunities for tapping new markets to help plan internally and project how growth affects the entire company
- Experience creating strategies the sales team can incorporate to meet their goals.
- Great understanding of prospecting and social media tools and vehicles including Linked In, Twitter, Blogs and monitoring tools.

The starting base salary and annual proposed commission is $148,900.00 to $190,100.00. Blackbaud may pay more or less based on employee qualifications, market value, sales quota, Company finances, and other operational considerations.
