About the Role
The Account Manager develops plans and manages their accounts within major academic research universities. You work with multiple stakeholders in the university research community and research libraries. You're the primary strategic account leader. Driving the overall Elsevier business for research products. You will report to the Regional Account Director. This position is Home Based, preferred CA.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining customer loyalty and satisfaction. you understand their business, strategy & research needs, budgets and competitors.
- Meeting or exceeding the annual revenue targets and achieving long-term growth of overall Elsevier business at the account or territory.
- Delivering the content value story to the customer. (Institute, library and researchers.) Driving customer value perception of Elsevier content, products and services.
- Leading and driving high value, complex and potentially highly political negotiations. (e.g. at consortia or country level.) Building long-term success within the territory.
- Meeting current and long-term revenue growth goals. Working in partnership with the other sales roles (Solution Sales Manager/Customer Consultant) as a tight-knit team in the territory.
- Interacting with various stakeholders within the account. Not only the commercial buyer. Working to transform the value perception of our core offering with researchers at the account.
- Driving new sales within existing accounts for ScienceDirect Journals, Scopus, ebooks.
- Ensuring appropriate input from other stakeholders and focusing on the customer’s business strategy.
Requirements
- Experience calling on academic research institutions selling complex products at c- level is valued. Additional experience with academic libraries is also highly valued.
- Have a secondary education from an accredited university or equivalent, relevant experience to the role.
- Display expertise to program manage a complex matrix of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience using complex enterprise software tools and experience using Salesforce or similar CRM.
- Have exceptional communication (verbal including on-line delivery and written) and presentation skills.
- Understand and leverage a strategic, consultative selling approach.

Salary Range

The salary range provided in this posting is the base salary range for California.$71,900.00 - $119,900.00
