General Description:
Implementation & Training Services helps new and existing customers successfully onboard and launch with D2L products. We prioritize partnering with our customers, by adopting a consultative approach.
As a Project Lead, you will lead new client implementation projects across all verticals (Higher Education, Corporate, K12). Being a trusted partner and the client's primary point of contact, you will work closely with Sales, Customer Success, and other Services departments to ensure that each client is prepared and enabled for their launch. You can expect to be leading multiple projects concurrently at any given time, and you will be expected to manage and implement projects from initiation to final operational stage. You will lead empowered, matrixed, virtual teams to include D2L, Client and potentially 3rd party personnel. This is a very project-oriented role and most of the tasks completed in this role would be considered billable. Travel may be required.
The role has responsibilities that traverse a broad spectrum of project, business, and technical accountability including project management, requirements facilitation, business analysis, technical solution design, and solution implementation.
Major Responsibilities:
- Act as the main technical lead for implementation projects:
- Conduct consultation workshops with customers to successfully elicit and clearly document requirements
- Propose, design, develop, and deploy standard products as well as custom technical solutions
- Devise technical solutions using D2L and partner products to meet customer requirements
- Design, configure, and deploy integration solutions between enterprise systems such as the D2L suite of products, Authentication Systems, and Student Information Systems
- Conduct requirements analysis to assess client technical readiness and establish an implementation and configuration plan for the solution
- Guide customers through the successful implementation of technical solutions
- Support client acceptance testing of deployed solutions
- Deliver on projects across multiple clients concurrently
- Operate independently to execute on customer commitments
- Project management:
- Oversee the implementation of multiple small projects to clients that are running concurrently at any given time
- Develop and manage project plans, and obtains appropriate client and D2L approvals; this includes managing project schedules and budgets
- Uses project control procedures to manage changes to the agree plan, including timescales, scope, and budget
- Identify and assesses risks, severity and impacts; determine and implement risk mitigation strategies and agrees them with the client and internal to D2L as appropriate
- Use Project Management methodologies as applied at D2L
- Internal knowledge and process improvement:
- Promote knowledge sharing within the department and the company
- Contribute to internal improvement initiatives as required
- Keep up to date with D2L and partner products and processes
- Keep up to date with new technology trends to help facilitate client learning solutions
- Participate in other billable and non-billable responsibilities as required

- Familiarity with the practices, procedures and principles of project management, with the ability to handle many small projects at one time or a few medium-sized concurrent projects

Work Experience:
- At least 3 years of relevant experience supporting client needs for integrating enterprise systems
- At least 2 years of experience working with Internet technologies, Web 2.0 concepts, Software as a Service (SaaS)
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in either Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent mix of education and relevant experience
