Behavior Researcher Support Overview
Project Objective:
We are seeking an experienced behavior researcher to collaborate on the EdLight Pathways project, enhancing our modules, instructional nudges (content/ format), Ember development (responses, empathy-ability) and through insights rooted in adult learning and behavior science. The goal is to ensure our content not only aligns with the best practices in the field but also effectively drives behavior change among educators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Module Review and Enhancement:
- Task: Review all existing learning modules to identify opportunities for revision that align with established principles of adult learning and behavior science.
- Goal: Ensure content is engaging, effective, and behaviorally informed.
- Deliverable: Detailed feedback report with recommended revisions.
- Behavior Science Integration Plan:
- Task: Develop a strategic plan for incorporating behavior science into future module development.
- Examples:
- Creating a “Behavior Scientist Checklist” for MIS (Module Instructional Specialists) to guide module creation.
- Goal: Embed behavior science into the DNA of our module development process.
- Deliverable: A step-by-step integration plan.
- Review of MVP Requirements, Theory of Action (ToA), and Impact Data Plan:
- Task: Critically review our MVP requirements, ToA, and impact data plan, providing feedback to ensure they are aligned with behavioral science principles.
- Goal: Strengthen the foundational documents guiding our project’s success.
- Deliverable: Annotated documents with suggestions for improvement. Co-develop and make improvements to ensure the project can measure and/or collect data on the impact of the platform on teacher behavior/student outcomes.
- Continuous Support & Timeline:
- Task: Provide ongoing consultation as we expand and iterate on our modules.
- Timeline: Immediate engagement with regular check-ins over the next 6-12 months.
- Goal: Ensure the project remains on track and evolves with the latest behavior science research.
- Deliverable: Periodic progress reports and real-time feedback during the development cycle.
Milestones:
- Month 1:
- Completion of the initial module review and delivery of the feedback report.
- Draft of the behavior science integration plan.
- Month 2:
- Review and feedback on MVP requirements, ToA, and impact data plan.
- Presentation of the behavior science integration plan to the team.
- Ongoing (Months 3-12):
- Regular bi-monthly check-ins and progress reviews.
- Continuous refinement of modules based on real-time feedback and emerging research.
- Final review of updated modules at the end of the support period.
