Certification Consultant, Cornerstone University
The Cornerstone Certification Program is seeking a Certification Consultant to join the Cornerstone U team. The Certification Consultant will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of assessments and related materials supporting product and integration certifications. Collaboration with internal departments, subject matter experts, and additional stakeholders will be required. The ideal candidate has proficient understanding and experience with item writing, content development, and learning management systems (LMS). The Certification Consultant conducts coaching sessions as needed and serves as the first line of customer (both internal and external) support as related to the certification program’s assets on the LMS.
In this role you will...
- Write assessment questions and supporting learning materials, in alignment with objectives and release topics, in a clear and concise manner to ensure assessments can be consumed by users whose native language is not English.
- Adhere to provided item development standards to ensure a high-quality testing experience for learners.
- Serve as the first line of customer support as related to the certification program’s assets on the LMS.
- Perform data entry tasks both manually and with import tools to create and maintain questions, practice tests, and certification exams in the LMS.
- Conduct one on one coaching sessions as needed.
- Create and maintain certification playlists, which are composed of multiple types of trainings and documentation.
- Create and maintain certification objects in the LMS, ensuring renewals are properly tracked, enforced, and result in updated expirations on badges.
- Manage assignments and LMS automation, such as emails, certification granting, reminders, etc.
- Manage badge templates via a third-party credentialing service and Cornerstone’s LMS
- Maintain program’s presence on LinkedIn, which may include posting articles, announcements, and congratulating badge earners.
You’ve got what it takes if you have…
- 5 years’ experience in assessment question writing and/or instructional design.
- Aptitude to continually learn new system functionality quickly – without specifically being an expert.
- Command of learning design principles and the application of the ADDIE model for creating effective learning/training deliverables.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited guidance.
- Process-oriented mindset with drive toward efficiencies in all aspects of the job.
- Ability to think outside the box and use critical thinking to get the job done.
- Service-oriented attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all learners, regardless of product experience.
- Bachelors’ degree.
Extra dose of awesome if you have ...
- Experience using AI to develop assessment questions and/or learning content.
- Experience using Cornerstone Learning Management.
- A Masters’ degree in an Instructional Design or Corporate Training-related field.
- Familiarity with psychometrics.

The starting salary for the successful applicant will depend on several job-related factors, including education, training, experience, certifications, location, business needs, and market demands.
