As part of our robust financial literacy and education program, we are continuously iterating on our curricular offerings in the D2L/Brightspace platform. The Instructional Designer will collaborate with curriculum and content writers to design interactive elements that align to the learning outcomes, objectives, and assessments for each lesson in a middle school and high school curriculum as well as in our other educational products. In this role, you will be utilizing Articulate, Brightspace, Vyond, and other multimedia to develop and design and test digital, interactive learning activities for students. Description
The Instructional Designer will build interactive activities that are highly engaging, pedagogically sound, aligned with national and state standards, and responsive to student needs.
- Commit to leading the creation of exceptional, interactive and gamified learning experiences for 6-12 students across the United States.
- Collaborate with the Teaching and Learning team, Product team, and content writers to create online learning content and activities for 6-12 students.
- Build content that conforms to WCAG requirements for accessibility.
- Utilize various multimedia tools to enhance student engagement and the learning process.
- Apply instructional design theories and methods.
- Use pedagogical best practices to design accessible, clearly structured, and easy-to-use activities that anticipate student needs, struggles, and questions within a classroom setting.
- Proofread, revise, and edit work prior to submitting; ensure consistent format and tone by following provided style guidelines.
- Contribute creative, fresh perspectives on ways to make our educational offerings more engaging, relatable, and tied to best practices.
- Research and provide recommendations on current trends in instructional design and digital learning and apply current and innovative technologies into the curriculum.
- Advocate for technologies and processes that enhance learner experiences.
- Develop metrics for measuring impact of learning activities and analyze and respond to data.
- Become a valued member of the Teaching and Learning team at Goalsetter.
- Consistently attend weekly meetings to advise on learner needs and design requirements and regularly report on project progress.
- Contribute to the creation of efficient workflows and openly communicate risks to timelines and quality.
- Work with course authors to design online courses using current methodologies, technology, and pedagogical best practices.
- Confer with project teams and clients to gather technical requirements on instructional methods and materials related to specific course subjects.

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of classroom or teaching experience is required (high school preferred), with a firm understanding of how students learn (especially in an online environment).
- Required familiarity with accessibility components in digital learning products (ADA and WCAG)
- Proven skill set with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experienced with Articulate Storyline and Rise
- Experience building courses in an LMS, Brightspace preferred
- Financial education experience or personal finance knowledge preferred
