Curriculum Associates is looking for an experienced accountant who is able to write technical accounting memos, implement and provide guidance on new accounting standards, ensure accurate financial reporting and assist with accounting projects such as purchase accounting and debt certifications and documentation.
The impact you'll have:
- Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with GAAP
- Lead drafting of financial statements and accompanying footnotes as required with year-end audit and debt compliance
- Monitor, oversee and implement new and evolving accounting standards under US GAAP. Support high priority initiatives across accounting teams, including M&A integrations and automation opportunities
- Advise and/or prepare technical memos and analysis to support accounting treatment and other finance implications for complex areas.
- Assist with cross training all Finance personnel on technical accounting topics relevant to the Company
- Manage the monthly transfer pricing invoice generation, ensuring compliance with inter-company agreements and clear and accurate inter-company reconciliations
- Ownership of the monthly foreign currency revaluation processes. Assist with the accounting for Company’s debt instruments including term loans and swap/hedges
- Assist with the Company’s external audit. Assist with special projects and process improvements
Who we are looking for:
- Proven ability to interpret and apply accounting guidance and prepare formal, well-supported, accounting position papers and supporting analyses
- Strong strategic, presentation, project management and communication skills
- Must be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders, business group leaders and senior management
- Process optimization focused - vision with the ability to apply practical solutions and navigate through ambiguity
- High-level of integrity along with the ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
- Team player; comfortable operating within a dynamic, complex organizational structure and able to be flexible and collaborate with team on different projects and needs
Education and Experience We're Interested In:
- 5-8 years of experience in technical accounting, mergers and acquisition, audit, and SEC reporting; more than 8 years’ experience is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s degree is preferred
- Comprehensive and current understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Working in organizations with foreign entities with different functional currencies.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills. Experience with Workday is a plus but not required.
Travel: Two days per week in the office
Benefits and Pay Range:
Pay Range – This role’s range is $81,500 - $139,000. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that Curriculum Associates considers in making compensation decisions based on our Compensation Philosophy. Actual base pay within that range will vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, prior experience and relevant skill sets. At Curriculum Associates, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances for each case. This role is also eligible to participate in the company bonus plan. The Company recognizes that minimum wage varies by location and will ensure all compensation decisions comply with applicable state and local laws.
