Baker College is seeking an Instructional Designer to join our team!
When suitable, they will integrate technology to enrich the learning experience across all delivery formats. At Baker College (BC), our instructional designers leverage proven frameworks such as Understanding by Design (UbD) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to shape impactful learning solutions.
As part of an ongoing commitment to instructional excellence, designers actively participate in evaluating the effectiveness of program and course designs to drive continuous improvement.
Collaborating closely with BC faculty, administrators, content experts, and the instructional design team, they develop engaging instructional content tailored for various learning environments, including asynchronous online, synchronous online, and face-to-face.
Designers utilize current and emerging technologies, where appropriate, to enhance the learning experience, incorporating a variety of media such as audio, video, podcasts, web content, and mobile devices.
They conduct research to explore innovative educational technologies and recommend instructional strategies that align with curriculum needs.
Additionally, they ensure that all course materials are maintained in Canvas, the Learning Management System (LMS), and are compliant with ADA accessibility standards.
Designers also participate in meetings and committees and support Instructional Design Assistants while staying informed about the latest trends and research in the field.
The successful candidate will believe in and support the student first philosophy while contributing to the overall success of Baker College, and acting as a positive role model and brand ambassador on and off campus.
Establishing robust external relationships to bolster Baker College's vision and mission will also be a key responsibility.
