Envision Education seeks Athletics Coaches to lead scholar athletes to success in diverse, compassionate school communities at our Middle and High School campuses in Oakland, Hayward, and San Francisco.

Envision Education currently operates four small schools in San Francisco, Oakland, and Hayward, as well as a national educational consulting firm called Envision Learning Partners. ATHLETICS COACHES: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach Skills
- Help team members learn basic, intermediate, and advanced skills.
- Organize Tryouts and Practices
- Encourage participation and recruit players to the program.
- Plan and run effective practices and training sessions.
- Ensure Safety:
- Make athlete safety a priority during practices and competitions.
- Monitor Eligibility:
- Collaborate closely with Athletic Director and School Administration to ensure all athletes are in good standing with their grades, attendance, and behavior, per the School’s rules and regulations.
- Communicate:
- Keep in touch with athletes, parents, and school staff about schedules and updates.
- Distribute practice and regular season schedules to student athletes and parents prior to the beginning of the season.
- Encourage Teamwork:
- Create a positive environment that promotes teamwork and good sportsmanship.
- Strategy:
- Develop game/competition plans based on athletes’ strengths and weaknesses.
- Track Progress:
- Monitor athlete’s skills and provide feedback for improvement.
- Handle Paperwork:
- Manage necessary forms, schedules, and equipment.
- Distribute, collect, and provide all medical examination forms from athlete participants prior to the beginning of the season.
- Be a Mentor:
- Serve as a role model and teach important life skills.
- Engage with the Community:
- Promote the athletic program and encourage community support.
- Responsible for fundraising activities for the program.
- These activities are designed to help the team to raise extra funds necessary to support the successful implementation of the program.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Understanding of the Sport's rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Previous coaching experience, ideally with youth teams.
- Commitment to the mission of Envision Education.
- Commitment to anti-racist and pro-Black leadership and practices in the workplace.
- High School Diploma completion
- Continuous current California residency.
- Demonstrated success working with parents and families, especially Black, African American, Latino/a/x, and immigrant families.
COMPENSATION
Coaches are paid a Stipend ranging from $500-$3,000. Stipend varies by sport and grade level.
REQUIRED CLEARANCES & CERTIFICATIONS
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Current negative TB test results
- Current active CPR Certification
- Current FBI fingerprinting clearances
- Completion of all required trainings
