WHAT YOU'LL DO
NASM is hiring now for a Data Architect to lead our organization’s efforts to establish and deploy a comprehensive data strategy which enables educated business intelligence. As a Data Architect you will provide both strategic planning, business capability and reference architecture planning in support of our overall business objectives. The Data Architect is expected to actively engage with our BI teams to establish a culture which drives advancement via AI and ML solutions.
As a Data Architect, you will partner with application development, infrastructure and security teams to development strategic business, platform and technology roadmaps while driving a culture of ownership, quality and execution.
The data architect is responsible for visualizing and designing an organization's enterprise data management framework
WHERE YOU’LL WORK
This position will work a hybrid schedule from our Gilbert, Arizona office location. Remote will also be considered for this position.
HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME
- Design and manage data systems, including databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.
- Develop a framework for how data is stored, organized, and accessed.
- Responsible for ensuring data security and compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with key business and technology stakeholders to develop and implement data strategies which align with business processes.
- Define how data is collected, used, controlled, shared, and restored.
- Establish a common data vocabulary to maintain consistency across the organization.
- Review and analyze data infrastructure, identifying data sources and define data management policies.
- Develop and maintain necessary APIs in support of the organization’s application and data requirements.
- Establish a data management plan which introduces consistent and common data architecture with new and existing solutions.
- Accountable for overall health and quality of data solutions, systems and platforms.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with business and technical staff on-site and in virtual environments.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Bachelor’s degree in computer-related field.
- 8+ years technical experience in Data Architecture or Data Engineering role
- 8+ years experience with SQL and alternatives such as MySQL
- 3+ years experience with Snowflake
- 5+ years experience with Azure Data Lake
- 5+ years experience with PowerBI, Tableau or similar products
- Experience with a micro-services architecture, containerization, Azure cloud, and SaaS solutions.
- Experience with SDLC and agile software development methodologies. Demonstrated ability to implement agile practice in an organization.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire confidence, ownership, and accountability in the platforms within scope.
- Proven experience influencing and building trusted relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Proven experience creating a vision, long-term roadmap and team execution to achieve the outcomes of plan.
- A thought leader that adds value to the business and demonstrated ability to apply business logic to technical situations.
- Demonstrated ability to create an atmosphere of accountability and ownership in a cross-functional and matrixed org.
- Proven experience with applying a customer first or product mindset towards engineering.
- A change agent that delivers results to customers.
