About the role

We’re looking for a high performing and self-motivated Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our team on an initial 6-month contract.This role sits within our Digital Services team, who are responsible for creating and delivering digital solutions, applications and microsites for the UK’s largest charities.
What you’ll be doing:
Delivering custom websites, stand-alone bespoke applications, and APIs to service customer offerings
Providing direction across application design and system architecture to deliver industry best practice
Owning operational requirements of the software delivered, including ongoing maintenance, and adopting best practice principles in line with company security and compliance policies
Providing guidance on solutions to technical challenges, helping to identify and manage complexity and uncertainty
What we need from you:
5 years plus of solid experience building and supporting websites & APIs using React, NextJS and Redux
The ability to get quickly up to speed on an established codebase with headless CMS architecture and multiple API integrations
Full stack skillset, including frontend fundamentals of JavaScript/ES6, HTML5 & CSS, backend development using NodeJS, and PostgreSQL
Knowledge of and usage of AWS cloud services
Knowledge of and usage of Typescript
Proven track record of building & supporting high performing and reliable systems in an agile environment
Good understanding of continuous integration & deployment pipelines such as Circle CI
Knowledge of and the ability to demonstrate testing best practices. Ranging from unit to integration testing using Jest as well as actioning code reviews and PRs
Knowledge of the software delivery lifecycle and experience working as part of a cross-functional team
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a remote-first team
