The Opportunity
As Grammarly expands its mobile offerings, we’re looking for a Mobile Engineering Manager to lead the iOS and Android teams. This role will manage a team of engineers creating high-performance mobile applications that empower users to write confidently on any device. You'll work on crafting a seamless mobile experience, building core functionality, and driving new feature development for Grammarly's mobile apps.
Grammarly's mobile teams enjoy the freedom to innovate and influence the product roadmap. The complexity of technical challenges is growing as we scale our mobile infrastructure and user base across various platforms. Your work will be highly visible, shaping how millions of users engage with Grammarly on mobile devices. Furthermore, In this role, you will:
- Lead and build a team of iOS and Android engineers that drive the development of Grammarly’s mobile apps.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and data scientists to deliver customer-centric features that enhance the user experience and drive mobile adoption.
- Foster a culture of psychological safety, inclusion, and collaboration to create a highly productive and enjoyable working environment.
- Apply a metrics-driven approach to prioritize mobile feature development and ensure quality at scale.
- Make technical and architectural decisions that will scale Grammarly's mobile presence and improve app performance and reliability.
- Drive sustainable mobile growth through experimentation, innovation, and data-driven decisions.
- Be a key contributor to shaping Grammarly’s mobile strategy while collaborating with leadership across various functions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience leading engineering teams, with a focus on mobile (iOS and/or Android) platforms.
- Strong technical knowledge of mobile development practices, app architecture, and performance optimization.
- Ability to break down complex mobile problems into manageable tasks and execution plans.
- A track record of hiring and nurturing mobile engineering talent, raising the technical bar.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to set and communicate priorities clearly and efficiently.
- Ability to thrive in environments requiring decisions with incomplete information, and adapt quickly to new data.
- Passionate about creating great mobile experiences and working in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.
