NOTE: This is a hybrid position, and several days each week will be required onsite at our Austin, Texas headquarters.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The following are the essential functions of the position. The list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary.
- Provide technical support to resolve issues related to operational, application, and business systems, as well as corporate end-user devices.
- Respond to, update, and maintain service desk tickets.
- Collaborate with Systems Administrators and Senior Systems Administrators on assigned tasks.
- Administer and maintain internal network and computing systems.
- Manage domain and directory facilities, along with related roles and functions.
- Perform system and software updates for upkeep and administration.
- Monitor and audit security logs and services for managed systems.
- Assist with managing and maintaining software updates, firmware updates, and patches for MIS systems.
- Enforce administrative access controls, as well as security policies and procedures.
- Maintain knowledge base documentation for IT support.
- Assist with Active Directory/Microsoft Entra ID user and group management.
- Onboard and offboard user identities across multiple systems.
- Assist with the deployment and management of end-user computing devices, related hardware, and accessories.
- Manage monthly departmental expenses.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Respond to on-call outages based on outage type and on-call rotation.
- Support daily operations of the MIS department.
ABOUT YOU:
The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are preferred or required to perform this job.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's or technical degree in an IT/IS-related field, or equivalent work experience, with 1+ years of experience in help desk, information systems, or a similar technical role.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, AWS, Windows Server, macOS, Unix, Linux, shell scripting, PowerShell, and VMware technologies.
- Experience in managing network systems, including firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless access points.
- Knowledgeable of directory/domain systems management and related roles (DNS, DHCP, NPS, RADIUS, PKI, et al.)
- Experience with documentation and training of complex systems to non-technical audience.
- Working knowledge of Cisco switching, Cisco IOS, Veeam backups, Fortinet firewalls and FortiClientVPNs desirable.
- Basic understanding of network management, cloud systems management, endpoint security, patch management, and backup management.
- Familiarity with ITIL Foundation concepts.
