About the Role:
Under the general direction of the AVP for Enrollment Management, the Lead Student Information Systems Analyst independently analyzes admissions and enrollment data for the purpose of systems and provides technical support with the operations of the CMS and communications systems, imaging systems, electronic data and other systems which support the Office of Admissions and the Enrollment Management Division. The Analyst serves as the liaison to the Information Systems/Information Technology campus groups and CMS Chancellor IT Groups and interacts with other campus departments in providing systems support and disseminating system information.
What you will be doing:
- Serves as a primary contact for the Admissions Department for the CMS (Student Administration) system; develops and expands enhancements of various components of the student information systems functionality of the CMS system; serves as a subject matter expert troubleshooting issues related to assigned systems and processes; prepares and maintains system/operational documentation for technical aspects of enrollment-related processes; keeps abreast of technical knowledge related to assigned responsibilities.
- Develops workflows and control procedures; supports system administration and oversees the development of end-user reports; provides guidance in business process redesign; supports campus stakeholders in consultation with Information Technology staff on systems infrastructure, integration and core system programming issues; establishes controls and processes to monitor systems and data integrity.
- Provides lead work direction to the Information Technology Consultant- Career Analyst and the Administrative Analyst/Specialists team and provides systems support for the application planning/development, testing, installation support, operation, and maintenance of Student Information Systems, Salesforce, database/web applications, imaging systems, electronic data interface.
- Provides support for process mapping and other quality initiatives in collaboration with other areas of the Enrollment Management Division; collaborates with other departments to address business issues and develop/refine processes that improve workflow and maximize the use of available technologies.
What we’d like to see from you:
- A basic foundation of knowledge and skills in technical information systems and application program packages is a prerequisite for this position. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study.?
- Working knowledge of automated desktop management tools in an enterprise environment, common software application packages, equipment platforms, reference database systems and sources, and training methods and a basic understanding of networks, data communication, and multimedia systems.
- Knowledge of applying standard theories, principles, practice, and techniques applicable to a university/higher education environment; operational analysis and techniques; excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved.
- Experience in investigating and analyzing problems that have broad administrative impact and implications.
- Strong systems background as a user or functional developer.
- Experience in using spreadsheets, database query tools and word processing software applications at an advanced level; using/supporting campus core enterprise systems such as Oracle-PeopleSoft (Campus Solutions/Student Administration) and/or other information systems. In addition, produce or retrofit content for accessibility, using tools such as Ally, MS Office and Adobe Acrobat documents, and audio and video transcription/captioning.
Compensation:
Anticipated monthly salary of $6,812 to $7,871 ($81,744 to $94,452 per year).
