THE JOB: The Vice President (VP) of Product Innovation and Strategy is a strategic leader responsible for driving the strategy, development, and execution of the full Realityworks product portfolio. This role oversees the entire product management process from identifying market opportunities all the way to the final execution of the product. By leveraging market insights, industry trends, and customer feedback, the VP of Product Strategy and Management will guide the launch of new products annually while managing pricing strategies, resource allocation, and go-to-market plans. This role will partner closely with department heads across Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and R&D, to deliver world-class products and curriculum. Reporting directly to the President, this role plays a critical part in shaping the company’s long-term growth and success.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops and executes a long-term strategic product roadmap aligned with business goals, market trends, and consumer needs
- Identifies market opportunities to drive innovation and refresh product lines, ensuring competitive presence and profitability
- Aligns cross-functional teams on product vision, prioritization, and execution, fostering clarity and collaboration across the organization
- Oversees the entire product lifecycle, ensuring quality, customer satisfaction, and alignment with company objectives at every stage
- Establishes and monitors KPIs, regularly assessing product performance and reporting insights to drive continuous improvement
- Leads a high-performing Product Management team through mentorship, collaboration, and professional development
- Conducts market and competitive research, translating insights into actionable strategies for product features and enhancements
- Partners with R&D, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to manage product profitability, pricing strategies, and timely execution of initiatives
- Guides the development, launch, and market success of up to 50 new products annually, ensuring brand alignment and market demand
- Collaborates with Marketing and Sales to develop go-to-market strategies, product positioning, messaging, and campaigns that drive adoption and satisfaction
- Manages resource allocation and prioritization, balancing long-term growth initiatives with quick-to-market opportunities
- Drives a culture of innovation, encouraging exploration of new concepts, prototype testing, and customer-centric product design
- Provides regular updates to the executive team, including metrics, successes, and strategic recommendations for growth
- Conducts quarterly and annual product performance reviews, incorporating data-driven insights to refine strategies
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or an equivalent field; MBA preferred
- 10+ years experience in Product Management, with a proven track record in consumer products and a solid understanding of the product development lifecycle
- Proven experience in strategic marketing and developing go-to-market plans, including product positioning and messaging
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead cross-functional teams and execute product strategies that drive market success
- Proven success in leading and developing high-performing product teams
- Proficient in market analysis and capable of translating insights into actionable product strategies with experience using data tool such as NetSuite and PowerBI
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to foster collaboration and alignment across departments
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience managing a portfolio of 50+ products annually or working in a fast-paced, high-volume product environment
- Background in a rapidly scaling company or educational technology is a plus
- Experience with curriculum development
WORK LOCATION: Realityworks, Inc. is located in Eau Claire, WI. This is a hybrid position, splitting time between working from a home office and working onsite at the corporate office, as assigned or required.
TRAVEL: Occasional travel for key events, trade shows, and customer site visits as needed
