Role Snapshot
Lead all programmatic initiatives at Black Men Teach as Managing Director of Programs, overseeing strategy and execution to recruit, prepare, and retain Black male educators in Minnesota's elementary schools. Serve as a key member of the leadership team reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, balancing visionary thinking with disciplined implementation.
Key Responsibilities: Translate organizational vision into actionable program goals and performance metrics, supervise four program leaders, and ensure cross-departmental coordination and alignment with the organization's mission. Represent Black Men Teach with external partners and funders while spending approximately 80% of time on internal leadership and system building.
Skills & Tools: Strong program strategy development, project management, and communication skills combined with a deep understanding of Black male culture and K-12 education systems. Ability to navigate ambiguity and connect strategic vision to operational execution.
Qualifications: Proven experience in educational leadership with demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and lead high-performing teams. Commitment to equity, cultural authenticity, and advancing systemic change in education.
Location: In-Person - St. Paul, MN
Compensation: $110K–$130K/yr
