About
I am a senior publishing leader with 13 years of experience in content creation and editing, team leadership, and people and project management. I have a great passion for management and leadership. I truly enjoy helping team members to grow and stretch in their skills and experiences while also helping them to further develop their talents. I strongly believe in a team and company culture that values honesty, transparency, collaboration, clear communication, trust, humility, integrity, and a growth mindset.
A few years ago, I read the book “Multipliers” by Liz Wiseman and that book has since been guiding me to build a team that ensures everyone has a voice and is given opportunities to grow. I want my team members to feel safe asking questions, admitting mistakes, and sharing disagreements. Creating that environment provides a better place for team members to do their best work and allows them to feel valued, seen, and heard. I also believe in regularly providing the team with quality communication that is clear, timely, and transparent to create a stronger and more trusting connection between team members and leadership.
I have always loved mathematics and problem solving. It is this background that has guided my career path through teaching high school mathematics, tutoring math students of all ages, creating math content for teachers and students, reviewing and editing math content to ensure its accuracy and usability, and then leading and developing teams in education publishing.
For the past 9 years, I have developed high-quality math instructional materials at Great Minds, a curricula publishing company. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working at Great Minds as all of my experiences there helped me to grow significantly as a people manager, team leader, communicator, and content editor. I now look forward to taking all my developed skills and experiences to a new company to continue my growth and professional journey.
