About
As a highly effective and passionate education professional, I have over 16 years of experience in the field of teaching and learning. I obtain a Master of Science degree in Exceptional Student Education (K-12) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education (K-6) from Nova Southeastern University as well as an Associates of Arts degree from Miami Dade College. I also obtain endorsements in the areas of gifted, reading, and ESOL. I currently obtain a Professional Certification from the Florida Department of Education, thus certified to teach K-6, Special Education (K-12), reading, ESOL, and gifted. As a lifelong learner, I have achieved to be a Microsoft Innovative Educator, chairperson for the Advanced Academics Department, Class Dojo mentor, Wakelet Ambassador, Flip Student Voice Ambassador, and the Professional Development leader at my work location.
In my current role, I embark in an educational journey as a first-grade educator of gifted and talented students, planning and delivering engaging professional development sessions, and lead the Advanced Academics Department that consists of 8 other educators and almost 300 students. My students and colleagues encompass international studies to become global students and educators as I present, tailor, and implement a culturally responsive curriculum and professional learning. Additionally, I create curriculum resources for gifted learners that is implemented in the school district's curriculum resources and mapping. In 2022, I was distinguished as the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Magnet Schools of America Teacher of the Year and then in 2021, I was distinguished as one of the top 60 educators in the world as I earned the Dedicated Teacher Award by Cambridge Press University. Similarly, I was one of the top five Teacher of the Year region finalist in 2019.
I am a passionate and exhilarating professional with excellent communication and team-building abilities. I connect globally with other educational leaders and teachers via my social platform. I orchestrated the first Teacher Summer Groove gathering that consisted of educators across the city to collaborate new yearly goals while building a collective group of leaders. As a bilingual individual, I continue to work with all teachers, parents, colleagues, and community stakeholders to manifest a continuous learning endeavor. With my expertise and passion, I continue to look forward to expanding the field of education with other zealous professionals.
