About
Current educator turned Academic Dean. I am excited for the opportunity to be a bigger part of a company and instill a positive and energizing effect on those I work with and for. I have always strived to effectively facilitate school and district curriculum expectations as well as prioritize support for all students, fellow staff, and administrative partners. I will take these skills and apply them to your company and their mission to create successful connections across the country.
I have been in education for 18 years. I have a Bachelors in Elementary Education, a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction as well as Administration. I am the Academic Dean at Wellington Middle High School. Currently, I collaborate with approximately 70 staff members, and create connections with approximately 1,300 students daily throughout hallways, cafeteria, and classrooms. The following are some highlights of my skills and accomplishments in my career:
β MTSS Coordinator to align with and create systems, data tracking, and improved communication with supports for all tiers of student behavior and academics across middle and high school
β GT Coordinator to create, edit, and write ALP goals for all gifted and talented students
β Assist the assessment coordinator for MAP, CMAS and PSAT/NMSQT tests
β Assist with the Mind Center Credit Recovery program for high school students
β Create and present various professional developments to whole staff as well as grade levels and department teams to support district initiatives as well as building goals
β Current member of Poudre School Districtβs and formerly Thompson School Districtβs Standards Based Grading Committee representing middle school
β Over 15 years of being on PBIS teams and district committees in two different states and three districts
β Started Watch D.O.G.S. program at Riverview PK-8 in Thompson School District to help promote positive male role models in the building for student support as well as safety
β Curriculum Coordinator for Math at Riverview PK-8 in Thompson School District
β Previously on Schaumburg School District (IL) committee to align NGSS standards to current curriculum and well as create common assessments per standards to be shared and used across district
Outside of my organizational skills and strong willingness to take initiative, I always try to be as creative and student centered as possible. This allows students and fellow team members to connect, develop, and excel comprehension of curriculum and educational grit.
It has always been a passion of mine to build solid relationships and communication with staff to build a foundation for curricular content, create real life connections, and challenge students to take risks as well as ownership of their education journey.
