About
Given my experience and skill sets around helping the implementation of new educational tech tools at both the district and campus level, I believe I could be a great fit for this role. Through my background being a team lead, cooperating teacher, and district leader, I've learned to evaluate learning needs and help drive the implementation of new strategies through course creation and leading professional developments/educational sessions.
Sixteen years in education has taught me how to deliver information that is relevant, engaging, and purposeful. At both the campus and district level I was tasked with training my colleagues in uptodate district objectives, hard and soft skills, and implementation of district tools (such as our LMS). Within the classroom, I studied data to evaluate skills gaps and address areas for growth and mastery through data collection and analysis. I have held various leadership positions, where I mentored my peers and fostered the practice of clear communication, positive interpersonal and client based interactions, and importance of personal management within a larger organization. All of these skills require an eye for detail and awareness of the needs of others, these are two traits which I have honed over the course of my career.
Professional Development Specialist is the natural next step in my career path as it allows me to adhere to the part of education in which I am most passionate: teaching. As a campus leader, I created and presented various adult education training sessions from effective team work to the most updated technology practices. I also served as a teacher mentor and cooperating teacher. In this role I was able to work one on one with new teachers to help refine and streamline their practices- often through mini-lessons and direct feedback to help them become more confident in their new roles. Truly my passion lies in helping people grow in their field.
