About
I have worked to create academic success in a variety of school sites and situations over the years. I am now the Director of Academic Data for Algiers Charter Schools, as such I am well-versed in a variety of computer-based systems and educational technology as well as working online/remote in all capacities. My recent focus on data and analytics I have been working to build data-informed schools where the data drives the teacher and student learning experience. I know the ins and out of schools including the areas of focus listedin the job listing. I have personally taught all grades from 6th to 12th and a few college courses. After many years in the classroom, I completed graduate school and was promoted to an Academic Dean role, with duties including the key role in the school’s data analytics to becoming a more data-driven school and overseeing aspects of our academics, including assessment analysis and organizing summer school.
I have been working in education for almost two decades in multiple capacities. Before teaching in secondary education, I worked in college admissions, attended graduate school, teaching undergraduates. As a certified teacher, I’ve taught students of every grade from 6th to 12th in Louisiana public and private schools. Most of my experience has been in charter schools serving the public school students in New Orleans. During my more than a decade in the classroom, I have built curriculums, tests, quizzes, department benchmark exams, and created extensive ACT Prep materials and the accompanying data analysis documents. I currently work supporting K-12 examinations and data ranging from DIBELS to ACT.
Aside from my teaching, data, and exam-writing experience, I have a plethora of skills that could be an asset. My communication skills in both English and Spanish are excellent. I am certified in a few technical areas and haven’t encountered a school-based technology that I cannot quickly learn to manage proficiently. My experience has ranged through diverse student populations. I believe that our job as educators is to help students to find their successful path, whatever that may be.
