About
With 5 years of teaching experience both in the primary and secondary levels I am extremely adaptable and creative. Creativity and adaptability are extremely important skills when it comes to lesson planning and implementing curriculum effectively in the classroom. Classrooms have diverse students with all types of learning curves and styles, my job was to be able to take curriculum and lessons and mend them to target students need. I was able to use my creative side to invent and create activities within lessons that helped students show and or even master their learning whether that was through drawing, writing, dramatic story tellings/retellings. I am very detail oriented when it comes to paperwork because teaching requires paperwork to be filled out accurately. I am also a huge team player and collaborator, working with teams of teachers throughout 5 years I learned a lot. Collaboration is vital in the teaching industry, working on implementing lesson plans, making sure that lesson pacing is being followed, and deadlines are being met. In education we used what is called backwards planning which is keeping the "end goal" in mind and planning lessons and activities according to what the "end goals" for students were. Strategizing together, and using effective communication and problem solving skills were used daily.
While I love teaching and have a heart for students and watching them achieve their goals I am ready to take the plethora of skills I have learned as an educator and use them more effectively in a new and exciting career.
