About
I’m an Educational Technology Specialist based in Plattsburgh, NY, and I’ve spent more than two decades helping educators and learners by integrating innovative technologies and designing engaging curricula. I earned my PhD in Education from Capella University, graduating summa cum laude. My work focuses on post-secondary and adult education, and I’m especially passionate about using AI and digital tools to improve instruction in both K–12 and adult-learning environments.
I began my higher education teaching journey as an Adjunct Professor at Clinton Community College from August 2006 to May 2010. During that time, I developed and launched the college’s first dual-enrollment courses, which led to a 50% increase in high school student participation in college prep programs. I used student-centered strategies in subjects like human biology and psychology, which boosted engagement and retention. Those early efforts laid the groundwork for a dual enrollment program that still benefits students today.
From September 2001 to June 2022, I taught high school at Plattsburgh City School District. There, I led several curriculum innovations—incorporating culturally responsive teaching practices and the latest digital tools. I introduced six AP social studies courses, which helped increase advanced academic enrollment by 35%. I also designed a comprehensive multicultural curriculum that enriched the learning experience for more than 600 students. In addition, I served on district-wide committees, influencing policy and helping boost stakeholder satisfaction by 20%.
Between September 2019 and August 2022, I expanded my impact as the district’s Technology Integration Specialist. In that role, I designed and delivered professional development programs that equipped over 100 faculty members with advanced digital skills. As a result, technology adoption increased by 50%, and tech support requests decreased significantly. My approach to teacher training and onboarding streamlined operations and helped the district transition smoothly to modern educational technology—especially during the shift to remote learning.
Since December 2021, I’ve served as an Online Science and Social Studies Teacher at Founders Education, LLC. In that position, I’ve designed interactive lessons and pioneered AI integration in virtual classrooms, leading to a 25% boost in student engagement and a 20% increase in teacher productivity. In August 2024, I also joined ThinkCerca, Inc. as a Content Writer. There, I create educational materials—particularly for AP U.S. History—that help students deepen their understanding and improve accessibility.
Outside of work, I’m committed to community service and lifelong learning. I volunteer as a First Aid/CPR/AED instructor with the American Red Cross and provide teaching and technology support at the Plattsburgh Senior Citizen Center. I serve as Secretary for the Experimental Aircraft Association Vermont Chapter 613 and support local animal rescue organizations. My career is driven by a passion for inclusive education, innovative technology use, and fostering meaningful learning experiences for everyone.
