About
I have over 18 years of experience in the field of education, with a strong background in both instructional leadership and administrative management. My expertise spans curriculum development, instructional coaching, data analysis, and student support services, including special education, 504 plans, and dyslexia interventions. I have a proven track record of successful project and program coordination, from leading professional development sessions to managing school-wide testing and student services.
In addition to my instructional roles, I have a solid foundation in business and financial management as a Business Manager, handling budgets, payroll, and human resources. My education includes a Master of Science in Education in Curriculum and Instruction and a Bachelor of Science in Education in Early Childhood Education, both from Arkansas State University, with a near-perfect GPA in both programs.
Key Skills and Accomplishments
Financial and Administrative Management: I manage all central office operations, serving as District Treasurer and overseeing payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and the district's budget. I also handle human resources, including onboarding, benefits, and FMLA/ADA compliance.
Student Support and Data Analysis: I have extensive experience as a Student Services Coordinator, using platforms like eSchool, Cognos, and ATLAS to create schedules, manage student data, generate reports, and ensure compliance for state testing, 504s, and Special Education. I also track student progress using various tools, including iReady and Istation.
Instructional Leadership and Curriculum: I have coached teachers in literacy and math using programs like Wonders and iReady and have presented professional development sessions on a variety of topics, including GoGuardian, Google Classroom, and Number Talks. I've also served on instructional leadership and curriculum teams.
Testing and Compliance: I have a deep understanding of testing procedures, having served as a Building Testing Coordinator for both elementary and middle schools, ensuring high participation rates and compliance with testing protocols and the Code of Ethics. I've also coordinated 504 plans, ensuring they meet Office of Civil Rights standards.
Dyslexia and Intervention: I am a specialist in dyslexia support, administering screeners and ensuring proper interventions are provided to students. I have also coordinated response to intervention (RTI) programs, supporting teachers in developing and implementing small-group interventions.
This highlights my versatile skill set, showing my growth from a classroom teacher to a multifaceted leader in both instructional and administrative roles within the education sector.
