About The Role

The role of the Instructional Designer (ID) is to develop video learning content by working closely with educators, subject matter experts and designers. This content primarily consists of video scripts and assessment questions based on course curricula and professional certification exams for allied health fields. This content will support the development and updating of video lessons, quizzes and exam banks. The ID will be an integral part of the content creation team, bridging the gap between the Creative Team and the Content Team while working independently to build, edit, and visualize the lessons for each learning video.

What You Will Do

Work with the Director of Education, Lead Designer, and external partners to define learning objectives and develop educational content
Collaboratively develop scripts into the Clover Learning educational style that are consistent with our brand voice
Deliver scripts, assessments, and reviews on time according to project deadlines
Visualize and communicate the instructional graphics necessary for effective learning
Work in tandem with video production and content development teams
Curate reference imagery and/or collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop images to guide lesson development during storyboarding
Apply learning theories and best practices for online learning to the lesson development process
Develop assessments with SMEs according to best practices
Stay up-to-date on trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design
Participate in professional development and team growth opportunities

What We’re Looking For

Key experience and qualities include:

Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts or equivalent work experience
Three or more years of experience developing learning or training programs
Excellent organization, planning, and communication skills
A collaborative mindset and ability to work with varying and changing needs
Ability to work both independently and within a team setting
Demonstrated accountability and autonomy working in a remote setting
Ability to complete assigned work and meet deadlines, while responding to needs of administration, team members, and outside contractors
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build rapport with educators and industry professionals

Preferred experience and qualities include:

Experience as a teacher/instructor in a formal education setting
Experience or training in assessment item-writing
Experience managing project workflows and tasks with Trello, Slack and Google suite
Experience with Articulate 360
Previous work experience or education in instructional design
Experience with Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning
