Role Snapshot
The Director of Finance at NewSchools leads the finance function to enhance financial operations and provide fiscal oversight, empowering the team to make data-driven decisions that support the organization's venture philanthropy mission in education.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the finance team and manage annual budget processes, financial reporting to stakeholders and the Board, and collaborate with program leaders on financial performance. Own general ledger operations, develop fiscal policies and procedures, and ensure best-in-class financial systems and internal controls.
Skills & Tools: Required skills include strong leadership, financial management, comfort with ambiguity, excellent communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite; preferred knowledge of Intacct, Bill.com, and Salesforce.
Qualifications: Minimum 12 years of professional experience with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles within a nonprofit finance context.
Location: United States
Compensation: $165K–$200K/yr
