Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $95,000 - $150,000.
Phillips Academy seeks a leader for advancement data and information strategy to become its next Director of Operations, Planning, and Analytics in the Office for Academy Resources (OAR).
Brief Position Summary
The Director will report to the Secretary of the Academy and will oversee a department of 13 professional and administrative staff comprising Information Resources, Prospect Development, and Reporting, Data, and Analytics. In collaboration with colleagues across OAR and Phillips Academy, the Director will lead process re-design, annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting efforts as well as ensure a high degree of proficiency in using data tools across the division.
In addition, over the near horizon (2025-2027), the Director will serve as the primary sponsor of an anticipated transition of the core advancement information system from a legacy product to a platform-based ecosystem.

Ideal candidate and role qualifications:
- Must demonstrate experience or aptitude to succeed through team leadership and personal action in several key areas: information strategy, planning and process design/re-design, technology and business unit planning, and the ability to infuse information-rich decision making into functions accustomed to experiential or anecdotal understandings.
- A passion for the roles that philanthropy and private education play in changing lives is required.
- Bachelor’s degree coupled with 8-10 years’ experience in advancement operations in an educational institution, or demonstrated success in related roles, is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to take initiative and collaborate with others, and an understanding of and commitment to private education is required.
