Classroom Technology Integration Specialist
The Classroom Technology Integration Specialist will assist in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of audiovisual (AV) and classroom technology projects within the Health Science schools at the University of Pittsburgh. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our technology-enhanced learning environments meet the needs of faculty and students by managing projects associated with the installation of AV systems, collaborating with vendors, and ensuring project success from start to finish.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with projects, specifically in AV systems and classroom technology, within an educational or health sciences environment.
- Strong knowledge of AV systems, including installation, integration, and troubleshooting of hardware and software components.
- Excellent vendor management skills, with the ability to negotiate, coordinate, and communicate effectively with external partners.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to facilitate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
Job Summary
Manages and performs work across multiple areas of the University's Information Technology (IT) platform and infrastructure. Conducts analyses for proposed IT projects. Assists with team members' goal determinations. Provides IT support and coordinates network activities.
Essential Functions
- Work alongside HSIT Project management to Facilitate AV and classroom technology projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Collaborate with educators, IT staff, and administrators to identify technology needs and oversee project plans that enhance the learning environment.
- Act as a point of contact for vendors and stakeholders, coordinating the procurement, installation, and support of AV systems and other classroom technologies.
- Develop and maintain project documentation building a repository of A/V design documents for the purpose of long-term maintenance and support
- Oversee the integration and configuration of AV equipment, such as projectors, digital audio/video routing, speakers, microphones, video conferencing tools, and interactive displays.
- Provide training and support to faculty and staff on the use of new technologies, ensuring a smooth transition and effective use of AV resources.
- Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and adjust project plans as necessary to keep projects on track.
- Ensure all AV and classroom technologies comply with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices in educational technology.
Physical Effort
Physical Effort: Work will require bending and reaching overhead. Manual dexterity to manipulate hardware, ability to move equipment, communicate with users, and walk to various locations around University campus. Must be able to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 30 pounds and use a ladder up to 10 feet.
