During the Kids/YA Marketing in Publishing internship, you will learn all about kids and young adult marketing, including creating campaigns, book publicity, working with influencers, developing authors, the role of social media, identifying a book’s audience and key selling points, measuring ROI, and more.
Summer Kids/YA Marketing Internship Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation, scheduling and tracking of social media posts for the Kids and YA teams.
- Draft marketing materials, including newsletters, press releases, and promotional copy, under the guidance of the marketing team.
- Research and compile lists of relevant influencers, bloggers, and educators for outreach and book promotion campaigns.
- Assist in pitching fall titles to influencers and media.
- Help organize events such as book launches or school visits.
- Contribute ideas for enhancing engagement with target audiences.
Internship Program Details:
Sourcebooks offers a 10- week PAID, IN-PERSON internship at our Naperville, IL office with our Kids and YA Marketing team. Interns will have the opportunity to get hands-on experience at a growing book publisher. You will learn how to use different communications styles and strategies to share information with different audiences both within and outside the company. A key component of this internship is storytelling: we’re communicating the Sourcebooks story, and our Books Change Lives mission, every day. You’ll learn how to refine a message, speak to values, engage an audience, and more! We're looking for book lovers who are excited to experiment, learn new things, and make a difference in the world of books.
Requirements & Eligibility:
• Current college junior, senior or recent graduate
• Able to work 24 hours/week throughout the program in person 3 days/week in Naperville, IL
• Available and commit to the program working June 10, 2025, to August 14, 2025
• Must reside in the U.S. for the duration of the internship program
• Must be over the age of 18
