D2L is seeking a Software Developer 2 to join the Borg team in Vancouver, specializing in the enhancement of the Brightspace Quiz Tool. The role offers a chance to work on diverse technologies while collaborating in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities: Developing new features, optimizing performance, and ensuring the quality of the Brightspace Quiz Tool, while collaborating with product managers, designers, and QA team members.
Skills: Proficiency in object-oriented programming (C++, C#, or Java), a strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, prior experience in software development, and strong problem-solving abilities.
Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between CAD 70,000 - CAD 100,000.

We are seeking a skilled Software Developer 2 to join our dynamic Borg team, where we specialize in building and enhancing the Quiz Tool—a critical, yet complex component of the Brightspace Platform. As part of the team, you will work with a diverse range of technologies, including Lit, C#, and SQL, to develop new features and optimize performance. We take pride in our commitment to quality, with a strong focus on testing and maintenance to ensure a reliable user experience. What you’ll bring to the role:
- Ability to analyze and decompose problems into potential technical solutions
- Experience with OO design and proficient coding skills (ie: C++, C# or Java)
- Strong understanding of Computer Science topics including: data structures, algorithms, databases, distributed systems
- Experience in software development, preferably in a technology focused company
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or similar technical discipline
